RESIDENTIAL BUILDING, CHENNAI
Project Brief
Located in a quiet and serene neighbourhood of Chennai, the residential building was envisioned to become a nighttime landmark through thoughtful facade lighting. The design aimed to enhance the building’s perceived value while establishing a distinctive visual identity after dusk. With its modern architectural language of glass, concrete, and plaster, the facade offered a dynamic canvas for lighting to highlight form, texture, and materiality, transforming the residence into a statement of elegance within its surroundings.
Design Intent
The lighting design was conceived with minimal intervention, prioritizing ease of access and maintenance. High-powered profile luminaires illuminated the crown of the building, establishing a bold presence on the skyline. Window sills were accented with sharp, linear highlights, while balcony edges were brought to life with grazing profile lights that revealed depth and texture. To complete the composition, surrounding trees were softly accented, weaving the landscape into the facade lighting scheme and creating a cohesive, elegant night-time identity.
